It’s been a long time since Those Guys have made it out on the field; so let’s shake of the rust (or is it dust?) and have some fun! “Ok I finally got the registration info for softball. I do not have time to try and get sponsors but it will be $850/team for 12 games. So depending on how many guys we get will determine how much we each owe. We have until April 11th to get this done.”

It has been decided that this is not the year for Those Guys to make their championship run. 2022 will be there year, hopefully!

Shortest game played, so this will be the shortest recap. Those Guys got crushed 23-3 in 3 innings, Marko continues to hit 1.000 for the year with a double in his only at bat tonight, and Doug went 2 for 2 on the night. Nothing else was worth mentioning. We are off next week and a 9:30pm game on July 29th. That is all.

The last night of the year was a true test of Those Guys mettle. After 2 rain outs Those Guys were forced to play three games, 1 against Seco and then 2 against Moe Joes. Being this close to fantasy football season and with other obligations, Those Guys had to call in some help to make sure there were enough guys to suit up. Jason Novak was able to bring along three guys to help out (RC, DJ and Crow). The first game against Seco was not much of a game for Those Guys. Donnie Markus led the team with three hits and that was not enough to overcome the huge deficit that was created by Seco. The end of the game was Seco 17, Those Guys 6.
The next two games were against Moe Joes and they were entertaining to say the least. Bryan Kouba had one of his best games at the dish going 3-5 with 4 RBI’s. The game was close all night and Those Guys even managed to tie the game in the 7th inning at 11-11. The 8th inning started off with a bang as Crow hit a triple to get the hitting started, Donnie Markus, Jason Novak and Ben Knight all hit doubles to keep the scoring and the inning alive. Those Guys scored 5 runs and though the game was put away. Moe Joes did not give up and ended up scoring 6 runs to take the win 17-16 in the 8th inning. The second game was all Those Guys, DJ went 4-4 with 1 RBI while Ben Knight went 4-4 with 2 RBI’s. Dicky Barnes and Jason Novak padded their stats with 3 RBI’s a piece. Those Guys dismantled Moe Joes 17-4 in 5 innings after a flip flop.
It was a fun year again and we look forward to next year and hopefully we can win some more. Stats leaders for this year are listed below, all other stats are located in the archives.

Hey, did you catch that laser show at the Inwood Softball fields on July 31st?! Yea, The Creeps sure put on a clinic hitting everything on a frozen rope in places we weren’t. Those Guys started off the night with Maver jacking his first homerun for an out but Donny followed right behind with a deep triple. Jason Novak countered with his own triple followed by Dicky hitting 1 of his 2 SAC flies of the night -Those Guys up 2-0. Well here comes that laser show…The Creeps just crushed the ball scoring 10 runs in the first inning, OUCH. Lead off walk for Bryan Kouba who then scored from first on Mike Hoyt’s double -Creeps up 10-3. The Creeps continued hitting scoring 4 runs in the 2nd inning and 3 runs in the 4th. Our bats slowed down in the 3rd but we were able to muster a run from the 2nd SAC fly from Dicky. Down 17-4 going into the 5th, Those Guys needed a big inning to keep the game going, and we began to show life. Doug got it going with a single with 1 out, Maver walked, Donny singled -scoring Doug, Jason singled -scoring Maver, Dicky singled -scoring Donny, and Bill hits a fields choice -out at second and Jason tries to score and is thrown out (in a very controversial call) at home. That call right there ended the game and Those Guys hopes at a come back. Till next week boys.
